Railside Tailgate Space Information
Railside Space Renewal Protocol
Fall Renewal Deadline October 1st @ 3PM
The office will begin accepting payments on July 1st
Spring Renewal Deadline February 1st @ 3PM
The office will begin accepting payments on December 1st
Only the designated space holder is permitted to make renewal payments.
A $150.00 late fee will apply per space for 2 business days following the deadline. If space(s) are not paid for by 3:00 P.M. on the second business day following the deadline, the spot will be permanently lost.
Patrons may regain a lost space by doing the following:
Fall Steeplechase – You may purchase a new space at a different location on the racecourse.
Spring Steeplechase – You will be required to enter the Spring Lottery. You may attend the lottery for that year if you purchased a Fall Railside Space the previous year. If you did not own a Fall Railside Space the
previous year, then you must purchase a Railside Space at the next Fall Steeplechase to qualify for the following year’s Spring Lottery.
Purchasing a Railside Tailgate Space
Fall & Spring Steeplechase Events are sold separately.
Fall Steeplechase - Railside Tailgate Spaces are available for purchase beginning on August 1st each year.
Spring Steeplechase - Railside Tailgate Spaces are SOLD OUT. The only way to acquire a 2026 Spring Railside Tailgate Space is to purchase a 2025 Fall Railside Tailgate Space to qualify for the 2026 Spring Lottery. Race Sponsorship Packages may also include railside tailgate spaces.
Railside Tailgate Space Dimensions & Pricing
The cost for a Spring Railside Tailgate Space is $420 and comes with 4 Patron Tickets and Parking for 1 vehicle. You may have a 10x10 tent in your space. Spaces are 12 feet wide by 30 feet deep measured from the racecourse rail. Tents MUST be secured with stakes and placed 5 feet back from the racecourse rail.
The cost for a Deluxe Railside Tailgate Space is $1,890 and comes with 10 Patron Tickets and Parking for 2 vehicles at the rail and 3 vehicles behind. You may have two 10x10 tents in your space. Spaces are 20 feet wide by 50 feet deep measured from the racecourse rail. Tents MUST be secured with stakes and placed 5 feet back from the racecourse rail.
2027 Spring Steeplechase Railside Lottery
The Aiken Steeplechase will hold a lottery for 2027 Spring Reserved Tailgate Spaces on Friday, February 5 at 12:00 PM at the Aiken Steeplechase Office. To qualify for the lottery you must have purchased a Fall 2026 Reserved Railside Tailgate or Deluxe Railside Tailgate Space and not currently own a Spring Railside Tailgate Space.
Transfer of Railside Tailgate Space
Railside Spaces may only be transferred to a person's immediate family.
Friday Tent & Tailgate Setup Policy
YOU MUST OWN A RAILSIDE OR SECOND-ROW SPACE TO SET UP ON FRIDAY
Friday Railside and Second Row Tailgate Tent Setup Available for a $50 donation. Reserved Railside and Second Row Space holders may set up their tailgate between the hours of 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Space holders are required to enter through the Red Gate and show proof of donation or pay $50 cash at the gate to set up. Gates will close to the facility at 6 p.m. Tent Setup Donations can be made through the Aiken Steeplechase Office.
